چکیده

Abstract Low oil recovery which is very predominant in shale reservoirs has stimulated petroleum engineers to investigate the applications of enhanced methods these formations. One such application injection gases into formation stimulate increased recovery. In many gas flooding projects performed field, miscibility injected usually most desired displacement mechanism, and carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) been recognized be best performing for due its ability miscible with reservoir at low pressures compared other as nitrogen. This minimum pressure (MMP) crucial importance because it primary limiting factor feasibility a project. However, there are factors cost availability and, instances, nitrogen (N lean more preferred candidate opposed gas. Mixing or required ratio can allow us design an that will suitable enough satisfy both constraints same time achieve reachable reasonable pressure. The objective this paper effect mixing 50:50 on tight experiment was controlled core sample, crude cleaning saturation process repeated each trial. used live from Eagle ford formation, were (99.9% purity), mixture ratio. ranged 1000 5000 psi increments psi, 6 h. potential N , CO –CO improving assessed along breakthrough time. results showed had highest followed by lowest longest time, shortest significantly longer than pure RF increasing pressure, but decreased incremental all three cases when above 3000 psi.

Inactivation of Gram-Negative Bacteria by Low-Pressure RF Remote Plasma Excited in N2-O2 Mixture and SF6 Gases

The role of low-pressure RF plasma in the inactivation of Escherichia coli O157, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, and Enterobacter sakazakii using N2-O2 and SF6 gases was assessed. 1×109 colony-forming units (CFUs) of each bacterial isolate were placed on three polymer foils. The effects of pressure, power, distance from the source, and exposure time to plasma gases were optimized. The...

Modeling and Simulation of Alternative Injections of CO2 and Water into Porous Carbonate Formations

Water alternating gas (WAG) technique is used in the petroleum industry to inject carbon dioxide (CO2) into underground formations either for sequestration or enhanced oil recovery (EOR) processes. CO2 injection causes reactions with formation brine or aquifer and produces carbonic acid, the acid dissolves calcite and changes flow behavior significantly. Modeling and investigating effects of CO...
